Help the Animals Find Their Way Back Home…

Remember that time is of the essence when checking for your lost pet at various shelters and animal service facilities.

Please remember to check our adoptions pages for Dogs & Puppies and Cats & Kittens if you have lost a pet, just in case your pet was found and brought into the Shelter.

Other important tips to help you locate your lost pet or to find the owner of a pet you have found:

1) Be sure to immediately contact Kerr County Animal Services and go by their facility daily to see if your pet has been picked up and impounded there.  Also check their Facebook page

2) If you have lost or found an animal, please contact the Humane Society of Kerrville Shelter office or email the shelter at pets@humanesocietyofkerrville.org with a description of your pet and photo attachment.

3) Kerrville Lost & Found Pets:  Post lost or found pets with complete details and photos on Facebook at Kerrville Lost & Found Pets.  Many pets have been returned home by posting on the Kerrville Lost & Found Pets Facebook page.   Please remember to provide a detailed description and always include the date and area lost/found and at least one contact phone number.  By posting to this Facebook page, your lost/found notice will also be shared via Twitter.

4) Newspaper:  Place a free ad of your lost or found pet in the Kerrville Daily Times area newspaper. They will take your information over the phone or in writing.  Please remember to give a detailed description of the lost/found pet and always include the date and area lost/found and at least one contact phone number.

5) ALWAYS check with your veterinarian and other area veterinarians to report a lost/found pet.  If you have found a pet, please be sure and have one of the area veterinarians check the pet for a possible microchip containing the owner’s information (note:  microchipping your pet is an excellent and inexpensive tool to help get your pet back home!)
